Egypt Economic Development Conference
Sharm el-Sheikh - Arab Today

Up to12 sessions and five workshops will be held on Saturday as part of Egypt Economic Development Conference.
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab and Egyptian ministers along with Saudi Finance Minister Ibrahim al Assaf and UAE Minister of State Sultan al Jaber, as well as senior officials of companies, financial institutions and international organizations will be present.
The first session will start at 9.00 a.m. and will focus on efforts to turn the economic vision into reality. Mahlab will be delivering a speech on Egypt's economic reform plan.
Attending the first session will be Planning Minister Ashraf el Araby, Finance Minister Hany Qadry and governor of the Central Bank of Egypt Hisham Ramez.
Veteran Egyptian scientist Ahmed Zuwail will take the stand in the second session.
Saudi Finance Minister Ibrahim Assaf and UAE Minister of State Sultan Jaber will speak in the third session about views of regional leaders about Egypt.
Chairmen of companies and financial institutions will discuss Egypt's position and their investment priorities in the fourth and fifth sessions.
The sixth session will focus on efforts to improve the investment climate in Egypt. Investment Minister Ashraf Salman will be delivering a speech in that session.
Egyptian magnate Naguib Sawiris will also speak in that session.
Former British prime minister Tony Blair will be speaking in the seventh session.
The eighth session will focus on the energy sector in Egypt and efforts to secure energy as part of development plans.
CEO of BP Bob Dudley will speak in the eighth session.
The ninth session will start at 2.30 p.m. and will stress the importance of diversifying emerging economies and Egypt's priorities to achieve sustainable development and create a balanced economy.
Investors' perspective will be tackled in the 10th session, with chairmen of major investment institutions reviewing their studies on investment in Egypt.
The 11th session will tackle means of boosting economic and social development and the role financial institutions can play in this regard.
The Suez Canal development project will be discussed in the 12th session.
Five workshops will also be held on the second day of the EEDC and will cover the petroleum, housing, IT, industry and tourism sectors.
