Sanaa – Ali Rabeh
Yemeni army Sanaa – Ali Rabeh Al Qaeda terrorist group killed 3 civilians and disposed of their bodies in a main street in Marib Governorate. Security forces told Arabstoday that the victims were found with their heads chopped off. Police found CDs next to the bodies of the victims that contained recorded confessions the deceased made for Al Qaeda. In the video they claimed they were gathering information to security agents on militant organisation. They also said they planted magnetized plates in undisclosed locations that lead to the death of some of their members by US aircraft missiles from drones.
Investigations revealed the deceased were working in cooperation with the Yemeni security services and were spying on “Al Qaeda”, sources said.
A source confirmed that two of the deceased Sharaf Al-Rimi and Abdel Karim Daoud Ahmed Ali were from the Al Raima province while the third one was from Emran province.
The body of the third victim is yet to be found, officials said.
All three sold narcotics in the province of Marab (Al Qat drug) that most Yemeni chew.
Officials said the method of murder was horrific, which suggest that Al Qaeda wanted to send a message to the victim’s families that all those who cooperate with the Yemeni security forces will suffer a similar fate.
Yemeni authorities confirmed the story and on the defence department’s website, which states that two bodies were found with their heads cut off in the province of Marib, and a search is ongoing for a third body.
A bomb exploded in a popular market in Al Quton, Hadramout on Tuesday morning.
The explosion caused no injuries or fatalities, officials said.
A source exclusively told Arabstoday that the explosive device was set to go off at a time when the market was empty.
The explosion was detonated from afar in the market that is held every Tuesday and is frequented by shoppers in the villages neighbouring Al Quton.
Members of Al Qaeda are said to be active in Al Quton, and American aircraft drones had killed a number of them in raids carried out during the last two months.
Yemeni president Abdel Rabbo Mansour Hadi, on Wednesday held meetings with the US, Jordanian and European army delegates, especially the US assistant secretary of defence in the context of international efforts to restructure the army and security in Yemen.
President Hadi said “the subject of restructuring the security forces is an integral part in the Gulf initiative under the far reaching reforms, which is considered one of the requirements of the current transitional phase in Yemen.”
Hadi talked about his country’s determination for “the establishment of a modern civil state,” and added, “that has good leadership away from any influences.”
The Yemeni Ministry of Defence announced on Saturday that a military team was dispatched to gather information about every military unit in Yemen, and said this process would take about two weeks. The information gathered will help in the restructuring of the army, he added.
Additionally, a US and Jordanian technical team is currently working on ideas to rebuild the Yemeni army according to theinternational army standards. The technical team is expected to implement the first phase of restructuring before the end of this year.
