SPLA spokesperson Col. Philip Aguer Panyang
London - Arabstoday

SPLA spokesperson Col. Philip Aguer Panyang Khartoum - Abdel Algayoum Ashmeag The Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA) spokesperson Col. Philip Aguer Panyang has told 'Arabstoday' that Sudanese armed forces have "violated the Memorandum of Understanding on Non- Aggression" signed in Addis Ababa. Aguer added that the Sudanese armed forces used its air force and bombarded SPLA outposts at Jaw wounding four SPLA soldiers. The attack took place only 24 hours after the signing of a non-aggression agreement between Sudan and the Republic of South Sudan brokered by the African Union in the Ethiopian capital.
"The Sudanese armed forces have moved forces and attacked SPLA locations to Balballa in Raja County of Western Bahr El Ghazal State using three battalions and PDF. At the same time SAF has been moving other battalions from Karassana and Heglig toward Jaw in a gross violation and act of aggression to the territories of the Republic of South Sudan," Aguer continued.
Aguer said that the agreement between the two countries was "totally different from what is happening in reality". He also added that the South was maintaining peace and seeking to provide security, however, Khartoum is busy preparing for war.
"South Sudan is capable of protecting its interests whatever the price," said Aguer.
