Russian bombers targeted the strangleholds of ISIS in the Syrian city of Deir Al Zour on Saturday, two days before the launch of Astana meeting scheduled to be held on Monday.

According to a statement from Russia’s Ministry of Defense, six long range Tupolev 22 has hit the sites controlled by the extremist group in the city, targeting their camps, arms depots, vehicles and militias. It added that all targets have been destroyed.

The statement added that Russian Sukhoi fighter jets provided protection to Tupolev until their return to their bases inside the Russian territories.
