US Secretary of State John Kerry (L) with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas US Secretary of State John Kerry will hold a Palestinian-Israeli meeting in Jordon to discuss the resumption of peace negotiations. Media sources asserted that The World Economic Forum at the Dead Sea, Jordon, witnessed positive contact between Palestine and Israeli,  that should contribute to solving the crisis between the two nations. The source noted that Jordan's King Abdullah II is aslo optimistic about these face-to-face meetings.
The Jordanian King has called on Israel to stop building settlements and its attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque. He urged all conflicting parties to resume peace negotiations and to take the Arab peace initiative as a reference of the peace process.
"We must also work together to address this fundamental crisis in our region, that is to say, the Palestinian - Israeli conflict. Extremism has increased everywhere and fed on this crisis, it's time to stop feeding it. The Arab Peace Initiative will determine the way forward,” King Abdullah II added.
Israeli President Shimon Peres is expected to arrive in Jordan on Sunday to participate in the World Economic Forum with expectations to meet Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas after the conference -, under American and Jordanian auspices.
King Abdullah II, Mahmoud Abbas and John Kerry will also take part in the Economic conference.
Israeli newspaper, Yediot Ahronot, reported that during his stay in the conference, Peres will hold a series of political meetings. However, his office has not disclosed the names of the Arab leaders he is scheduled to meet.
During his opening speech at the forum, President Mahmoud Abbas said affirmed that ending the occupation, releasing the prisoners, the departure of the settlers and settlements, and the dismantling of the apartheid wall, is what will achieve peace in the region. Addressing the Israelis, he added: “This will guarantee security for you and for us.”
"It is still possible to make peace, come and let us make peace a reality on the ground, in order for the present and future generations to enjoy the pays off, and live in the shadows of peace," Abbas added
