Yemeni security source revealed on Monday that the governmental troops managed to achieve notable advance towards Nar Mountain in the eastern front of Mokha, as the troops of legitimacy launched an artillery attack for the first time on sites of Houthi militias in the Yemeni capital of Sana’a in coincidence with military clashes witnessed on the border area between Yemen and Saudi Arabia.
According to military sources, the attack targeted the Presidency House and its surrounding military areas controlled by Houthi insurgents and forces loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh. The sources described the attack as a turning point in the battle between the legitimate troops and the insurgents, saying that Houthis have not expected the ability of Yemen’s governmental troops to target them in the capital.
Local residents said that a number of explosions have been heard in the Yemeni Capital of Sana’a in the surrounding area of Sabeen Square and House of Presidency. One of the residents said that three shells have dropped in Sawan district in the eastern side of the city, while they have not led to the fall of any victims.
On the political side, Yemen’s Prime Minister Ahmed Obeid Bin Dagher said that the Arab Coalition performed a major role to restore 85 percent of the Yemeni territories since the launch of its operations against the Houthi insurgents two years ago. He added that the operations are close to achieve their final goal to eliminate the coup and to eradicate the Iranian projects in the Middle East.
On the other hand, Spokesperson of Arab Coalition Ahmed Al Essiry revealed that the Arab Coalition has no solution to resolve the Yemeni crisis except turning to the military option. He blamed the Houthi militants for the failure of all peaceful initiatives to end the current crisis.
He added, in televised statement, that the military action would be stricter during the coming period in the different fronts. He added that the battle to liberate strategic Hadida Port are imminent in the light of the refusal of the United Nations and its related agencies to supervise it. He added, “The military operation to liberate the port is a duty to secure the delivery of humanitarian aids to the Yemeni people and to protect the international navigation.”
In Sana’a, sources revealed that Houthi group prevented former President Ali Abdullah Saleh from ascending to a platform before rallies of people to mark the memory of the war beginning. They added that Saleh met with leaders of Houthi militias days before the celebration, and called him for not appearing in the platform.
The sources added that the step came not raise the anger of Houthi people who faced repression during the years of Saleh’s era. Saleh was witnessed during the celebration in the square with the people who rallied to mark the second memory of the war beginning, while he was surrounded by dozens of his guards
