Tahrir Square has been home to previous demonstrations in Egypt
Cairo - Akram Ali

Tahrir Square has been home to previous demonstrations in Egypt  More than 20 revolutionary and political forces have announced their intention to demonstrate in Tahrir Square on Friday May 17 under the banner of "save Egypt." The groups have demanded President Mohammed Morsi be overthrown and early presidential elections take place.
The demonstration plans, published exclusively by Arabstoday, show that the first march first will occur after Friday prayers and will start from Mahmoud Square in Giza ending at Tahrir Square. The second march will start at noon (local time) from Dawaran Shubra (north of Cairo) and will also end in Tahrir Square.
Member of the Constitution Party Mohammed Eid told Arabstoday that the party will take part in the protest marches with April 6 Movement demonstrators, the Revolutionary bloc, the People's Power Party and others.
“The Friday demonstrations are considered as the beginning of the escalation against the Regime,” said Ayman Hussein, member of El Tayar Al shabie.
The Katibat Al Moshagbeen group and a number of activists on social networking sites announced their intention to stay overnight in the square to secure it in preparation for the demonstrations on Friday.
The participating parties declared their rejection of the ruling Muslim Brotherhood party and stated that their main intention is to overthrow the government by June 30.
They also announced that they will focus on collecting signatures for a vote of no confidence in President Mohammed Morsi.
The forces participating in the demonstrations are: the Constitution Party, the Egyptian Liberal party, the Egyptian Social Democratic, Youth Movement for Justice and Freedom, Coalition of the Revolutionary Forces, the Movement of the Second Revolution, the Democratic Front, the Free Front for Peaceful Change and the Maspero Youth Union.
