Dr. Qotbi Al-Mahdi
Khartoum – Abed Algayom Ashmeag
Dr. Qotbi Al-Mahdi Khartoum – Abed Algayom Ashmeag The government of South Kordofan State announced on Monday the reopening of Al-Abbasiya -Rashad road after repulsing the rebel forces of Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) from Al-Maqrah and the surrounding mountains and securing the site of the camp of the Chinese company working at the road.
South Kordofan government stated that 29 of the Chinese and Sudanese workers of the company are still held by the rebel movement.
The Armed Forces have found a decomposing body of a Chinese worker who was shot down by the SPLM rebels near the camp of the company.
The Chinese company's site was looted by the rebel forces which stole large amount of money and equipments and destroyed a number of vehicles and trucks belonging to the company.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Al-Abbasiya Locality  Kamal-Eddin Subahi condemned in a press release to Sudanese News Agency (SUNA) the aggression against the Chinese workers and the assassination of one of them “without any justification.”
The Commissioner said that life at the locality has returned to normality, stressing that the robbery acts uncover the nature of SPLM and its army who are “against achieving peace, stability and development.”
The Commander of the 53 Brigade at the Easter Area Brig. Saifal-Milouk Bakhit affirmed that the Armed Forces are imposing full control on the area and exerting intensive efforts to liberate the hostages safely.
Chairman of the Political Sector of the National Congress Party (NCP) Dr. Qotbi Al-Mahdi pointed out that all the indications and practices of the government of South Sudan, in addition to its obstinacy in the negotiations and its establishment of relations with Israel and other hostile countries, reflect its opposition to peace and its aim to ignite war against Sudan.
Responding to queries of the media on the opposition's efforts to renew its structure and alliances, he said that all the reasons given by the opposition, such as the economic crisis and corruption, are not sufficient causes for toppling the regime.
Al-Mahdi called on the opposition to come up with alternative solutions for the current issues, adding that the government failure could only be proved by producing alternative programmes and policies.
