
The Red Sea Port Authority put out to an international tender on Monday for the building of a yacht marina at Sharm el-Sheikh port. Egyptian, Arab and foreign companies took part in the tender, Abdel Rehim Moustafa, the authority spokesman, said. The project, to be built under Build, Operate and Transfer (B.O.T.) system, will accommodate 5,000 yachts annually in addition to 300,000 tourists, he said. It will cost 160 million pounds and will provide 450 jobs during construction phase and 400 permanent ones, he added.
