Tehran - Fars
The western people are highly eager to visit Iran to learn about its ancient history, culture and civilization, Iranian tour and travel agencies said.In an interview published by Levantine Cultural Center, Rahman Mehraby from Destination Iran Tour and Travel Services explained that westerners are the most enthusiastic clients who contact them to travel to Iran and learn about its ancient history, culture and civilization. Most of them leave Iran with a different perspective believing that Iranians are hospitable people who like to see tourists. Mehraby explained who travels to Iran, what is there to visit and why travelers to Iran come back with a different perspective. The interview with Destination Iran has been released at Levantine Center's website. Mrs. Teresa Cutler-Broyles, the journalist, puts forward a series of questions about Iran tourism that could come across any curious mind. She and probably a lot more readers are surprised at learning the facts like Rahman Mehraby's main clients are westerners who visit Iran both as individuals and groups, women travel to Iran and even alone, they know which travel destinations Iran offers. "All my clients are Westerners, from Europe, North America, Australia, and New Zealand, and a few from Brazil" explains Rahman Mehraby, the director of Destination Iran Tour and Travel Services. "People travel to Iran because they are eager to learn about ancient cultures, civilizations and empires like that of Persians. Such travelers are not heavily influenced by the politically-motivated media. Rather, they are inclined to learn about the realities of people's lives today together with their roots in a country with long history and astonishing architecture. They believe previous travelers' stories more." He further explained that Iranians are not just a fanatical nation living highly traditional lives and showing strong opposition toward change, technology and outside world. Quite opposite, Rahman said, "The truth is that Iranians are for the most part well-educated, modern-thinking, and change-loving." This has not been the perception of many people outside Iran. A lot of Destination Iran's clients hear about him and his tour services from the previous travelers. Word of mouth is working much better than media for them. The people, who leave Iran after a trip of one or two weeks, feel that Iranians are quite hospitable toward tourists and proud of their country and its history. They are happy to see that Westerners are coming to visit their ancient sites and world cultural heritage monuments.
