Turkish national airline company and American low-cost airline firm announced on Wednesday an interline agreement. Turkish Airlines (THY) and JetBlue Airways decided to connect the carriers' networks at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and Washington's Dulles International Airport. Through this new partnership, customers will be able to transfer in either U.S. city between Turkish Airlines and JetBlue operated flights. JetBlue offers connections to and from dozens of cities throughout the United States including Boston, Massachusetts; Buffalo/Niagara Falls, New York; Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina; Fort Lauderdale and Orlando, Florida; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Headquartered in Istanbul, THY operates scheduled services to 150 international and 41 domestic cities (38 domestic airports), serving a total of 187 airports, in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas.      Turkish Airlines increased its sales revenue by 40% in 2011, compared to 2010, and recorded operating profit of 339 million TL. Net profit came in at 19 million TL. Number of passengers carried increased by 12%, reaching to 32,7 million in 2011. JetBlue Airways Corporation is an American low-cost airline. The company is headquartered in the Long Island City neighborhood of the New York City borough of Queens. Its main base is John F. Kennedy International Airport, also in Queens. The airline mainly serves destinations in the United States, along with flights to the Caribbean, The Bahamas, Bermuda, Barbados, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and Mexico. As of December 7, 2011 JetBlue serves 71 destinations in 21 states, and twelve countries in the Caribbean, South America and Latin America.
