London - Arabstoday

UK-based tour operator Thomas Cook has cut the cost of some Olympic breaks by as much as 50 per cent at is struggles to generate sales. With just under four weeks to go until the Opening Ceremony, Thomas Cook has launched a four-day sale, with discounts of up to 50 per cent. Thomas Cook is the official short break provider to the London 2012 Olympic Games. Earlier this year the struggling tour operator was forced to deny it would discount tickets. However, Thomas Cook said earlier is now had more remaining tickets than anticipated. This mirrors the situation at LOCOG, which is responsible for tickets to the games, which has struggled to sell the remaining tickets for events after putting them on sale in June. Stephen Vaughan, managing director of Thomas Cook’s London 2012 partnership said: “This very special and limited offer on some of our remaining Games Breaks is in response to what we know our customers want - guaranteed seats and hotels that offer them great value.”
