Jeddah - Arabstoday
King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) has announced a lease agreement with the Saudi Airlines Catering (SAC) and handed over an industrial land plot at the industrial valley for the establishment of its industrial laundries project, slated to be the largest in the GCC. Khalid bin Abdullah Almolhem, director-general of Saudi Arabian Airlines and chairman of SAC board of directors and Fahd bin AbdulMuhsen Al-Rasheed, managing director and CEO of KAEC, signed the deal. SAC's board of directors and a number of senior executives from KAEC were also present at the event. The new plant will be covering an area of 22,000 square meters at an investment of SR50 million, and once completed, it will include the latest high-capacity laundry technologies. The project will meet the massive needs of Saudi Arabian Airlines and of other industrial and servicing facilities in KAEC. In addition, once operational, the new factory is expected to create many new jobs opportunities, and to train and develop skills for Saudi talents. Khalid Almolhem said: "We are pleased to be part of KAEC's rapid expansions through our new industrial laundry facility at the Industrial Valley.  This is an important step within the strategic approach of SAC to expand its businesses, strengthen its activities, and upgrade its operations within the Kingdom and globally". Fahd Al-Rasheed said: "Industrial Valley enjoys high quality services and facilities that come together to deliver an ideal industrial and operational hub". Christophe Parent, CEO, Saudi Airlines Catering, said: "The establishment of SAC's facility at KAEC proves an extremely healthy investment climate in the city" Ahmed Linjawy, president of industry and city services at KAEC, said: "KAEC has recently seen the completion of leasing the first phase of the Industrial Valley and the launch of the second phase.” He added: "The Industrial Valley which has been designed with global planning standards for industrial zones, become a hub for a large number of local and global industrial companies looking to establish projects either through ownership or long-term lease.”
