Manama - BNA
Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), praised Bahraini women's potentials and capabilities to confront challenges, achieve aspirations and succeed in various fields. Her Royal Highness hailed Gulf Air's efforts in recruiting Bahraini women in its different administrative and executive departments describing them as an added value to the company's aviation, engineering and hospitality crew. Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka was speaking as she received at the SCW headquarters Gulf Air Chief Executive Samer Al-Majali and a number of Gulf Air affiliates and flight attendants. Her Royal Highness affirmed the importance of empowering women and engaging them in decision-making while taking into consideration competence in career development and promotions. HRH took pride in Gulf Air's Bahrianization approach with the number of Bahrainis working in the company’s executive and middle management topping 83%. Women account for 34% of the company's workforce. Her Royal Highness asserted that SCW is closely following up on Tamkeen's Women-Oriented initiatives, including a programme carried out in cooperation with Gulf Air to provide more job opportunities for Bahrainis and create new jobs in the aviation industry. For his part, the Gulf Air Chief Executive thanked HRH Princess Sabeeka for the meeting describing it as an impetus for the company to exert more efforts in supporting Bahraini women who, he said, enjoy all rights and privileges the company grants to its employees.
