Spanish national airline Iberia on Friday cancelled 107 out of a total 315 flights as pilots and cabin staff went on a fresh strike over the creation of the low-cost offshoot Iberia Express. The airline is working to ensure that passengers affected by the strike are placed onto other flights. This is the fourth day of strike this month at Iberia, as the pilots' union SEPLA and cabin staff claim that the airline's low-cost subsidiary, which is due to start operations on March 25, would lead to a severe deterioration of their working conditions. Another one-day strike is planned for Feb. 29 during which a further 130 flights would be affected.
