Disney bags top awards for Cruise Critic awards 2015

Looking for a budget cruise? Consider the Carnival Liberty. Want to be wined and dined aboard? Book a package on the Holland America Nieuw Amsterdam. Looking for the best overall cruise line? Go with Disney.
Those are some of the conclusions out of the 2015 Cruise Critic Cruisers’ Choice Awards, which looked at the ratings submitted by Cruise Critic members to come up with the best ships across more than a dozen categories.
For the third year in a row, Disney Cruise Line snapped up the title of “Best Overall” cruise ship with the Disney Dream scoring a mark of 83 percent among its 397 reviews in the category of large ship.
Disney Wonder took the award for best overall cruise line in the mid-sized category, while Pacific Princess took the title for small cruise lines.
While guests can expect an omnipresent Mickey on both subtle and extreme levels, Cruise Critic editors note that the ship doesn’t forget their adult guests, with art deco that’s at once elegant and refined and evocative of old-world luxury.
Innovative features and services include digital paintings that come to life, virtual portholes for inside cabins, onboard mystery expeditions, and an adults-only pool.
But make no mistake, editors note: “...young Disney fans are the line's bread and butter, and they always have been.”
Disney nabbed 12 awards in total this year, in categories like best entertainment, cabins, service, best for families, and best cruises to the Bahamas.
Cruise Critic is an offshoot of TripAdvisor and bills itself as the largest online cruise community with more than 100,000 cruise reviews.
