Trinidad - Arabstoday
Gatwick Airport announced today that Caribbean Airlines, considered ‘Caribbean’s Leading Airline 2011’ by the prestigious World Travel Awards will launch non-stop flights between Gatwick and PiarcoInternational Airport, Port of Spain, Trinidad, four times a week. The airline will operate the route beginning 14th June 2012, with tickets now on sale. Additionally, a three weekly flight schedule will provide one-stop services via Barbados from 16 June 2012. Caribbean Airlines will operate the services on Boeing 767-300ER aircraft with state-of-the-art cabins, including in-seat power and video as well as flatbed business class seats. Trinidad’s natural resources of oil and gas make it an important business destination, with numerous world-leading corporations now based on the island. Trinidad is also celebrated for its vibrant culture and world-renowned festivals. Guy Stephenson, Gatwick Airport’s Chief Commercial Officer says: “Business travellers particularly will welcome this new service linking them with the economic hub of Trinidad, but it also opens up an exciting new choice for holiday makers.” “This new route demonstrates our ongoing success in attracting new airlines to Gatwick as a result of our ongoing multimillion pound investment programme aimed to deliver the best airport experience for all passengers, including a wider range of travel options” Caribbean Airlines Acting CEO, Robert Corbie said: “We are extremely happy to announce the start up of our service from Gatwick to PiarcoInternationalAirport as our flights will provide a vital link between London and the Caribbean. We are well positioned strategically to become the preferred airline for all customers flying between London and the Caribbean with seamless connections to South America. “Fly Caribbean” to experience the warmth of the islands as soon as you step on board.”
