Cairo's 3rd metro link dubbed 'Revolution Line'

Cairo's new metro link will be officially named the Revolution Line following a decision taken on Wednesday by Egypt's Cabinet, according to a report on Ahram's Arabic-language portal. The first phase of Cairo underground's third line was opened to the public on Tuesday. The newly-opened section links five metro stations that extend between two of Cairo's busiest squares -- Ataba, just south of downtown, and Abbasiya, several kilometres to the northeast. Worth LE4.2 billion ($700 million), it is the initial part of a four-phase expansion that will eventually link Cairo University in Giza with the capital's international airport.
