Boeing profit soars in second quarter

Boeing reported on Wednesday second-quarter profit rose 20 percent from a year ago and raised its forecast for 2011 earnings. The US aerospace and defense giant posted net profit of $941 million and said that commercial aircraft as well as a strong core performance across the company's businesses had produced a banner April-June period.
