London - Arab Today

AirAsia is increasing the number of connections it offers to Krabi, with new routes from Chiang Mai and Singapore and extra flights from Bangkok. Commencing on 25 November 2013, the low-cost carrier will offer daily flights between Singapore and Krabi, with daily services from Chiang Mai launching the following month, on 15 December 2013. The frequency of flights from Bangkok will increase to eight times a day from 25 November. Tassapon Bijleveld, CEO of Thai AirAsia, said his airline was mounting the extra flights to cater for strong passenger demand. He noted that the Bangkok-Krabi frequency had been increased several times in the past, but was still yet to match demand. “We believe that connecting Krabi to a variety of other destinations will provide travellers with more convenience and will thus be introducing Krabi-Singapore this 25 November 2013 and Krabi-Chiang Mai this 15 December 2013,” Bijleveld said. The additions will give AirAsia the highest capacity of any airline at Krabi International Airport, with 84 weekly flights from four cities – Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Chiang Mai and Singapore. Krabi province is home to some of Thailand’s most popular and iconic beach destinations, including Railay Bay and Phi Phi Island. Source: Travel Daily
