The funeral of Egypt's beloved actress Faten Hamama was held Sunday at Al Hosary Mosque in the 6th of October City.
Hamama, one of Egypt's best known actresses, died Saturday evening at the age of 83 and was laid to rest on Sunday.
Hamama was born in the Delta city of Dakahliya on May 27, 1931, according to her civilian record. However, she stated in previous remarks that she was born in Cairo's Abdeen district.
She made her movie debut when she was seven years old, featuring in Youm Saeed (Happy Day) movie alongside late legendary singer and composer Mohamed Abdel Wahab, and went on to star in almost 100 films.
