The Bulgarian Parliament decided on Friday to hold the presidential elections on November 6.
Sofia News Agency said that the date was proposed by the political party "Citizens for European Development", the dominant partner in the minority coalition government led by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov. The motion was passed with 113 votes approving, 14 votes rejecting and eight abstentions.
Members of parliament rejected a motion by the Socialists to hold the elections on October 23. Another one by the Movement for Rights and Freedoms the second largest opposition force in the current Parliament was also rejected.
