UN Secretary General Meets Bahrain's Foreign Minister

The United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres met here Wednesday evening with Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.
Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported that during the meeting they discussed the most important developments on the regional and international arenas and issues of common interest.
Bahraini Foreign Minister expressed confidence in the ability of UN Secretary-General to promote the important role played by the international organization in the world that is rife with problems and overlapping crises, noting to the necessity of solidarity, concerted efforts and closer international cooperation among all countries of the world to overcome these problems.
Bahrain's Foreign Minister stressed the importance of the commitment of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in cooperation and consultation with the Kingdom of Bahrain, on the basis of the respect of its sovereignty and appreciation of its permanent efforts, which made it an advanced model in the development of human rights in the framework of the constitutional institutions.
For his part, Guterres expressed his appreciation for the cooperation of the Kingdom of Bahrain with the United Nations and all its institutions in various fields that serve humanity and achieve international peace and security.
