
Dr. Obaid Al Hairi Al Ketbi, UAE Ambassador to Australia and Non-resident Ambassador of the UAE to the Republic of Vanuatu, has met Charlot Salwai, the Prime Minister of Vanuatu, to discuss ways of enhancing bilateral co-operation in trade, investment and business areas.
Mr. Salwai said his country was interested in boosting co-operation and contact with the UAE in all domains.
He also expressed thanks and gratitude to the UAE for the assistance it provided in the field of renewable energy.
During his visit to Vanuatu, the UAE ambassador held separate meetings with Bruno Leingkone, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ham Lini, Minister for Climate Change, Ralph Regenvanu, Minister for Lands, and Alfred Maoh, Minister for Internal Affairs, to explore mechanisms of developing joint co-operation.
The envoy also toured a solar power project implemented by Masdar, which comprised a 644kWp ground-mounted and car park structure at the Parliament House premises, as well as a 123kWp ground-mounted site at the Meteorology and Geo-Hazard Department building.
