Tunisian Prime Minister Habib Essid met on Tuesday with a US Congress delegation led by Senator (Democrat) Kirsten Gillibrand.
The Tunisian Prime Minister briefed the US delegation on the government's priorities and its future programs, ahead of the establishment of a new development model including structural reforms, particularly in the economic and social fields, the official news agency TAP said, adding that Essid also spoke of the challenges faced by Tunisia in the economic, social and security fields.
To meet the economic and security challenges, he said, Tunisia relies on its own capabilities and also on the support of friendly countries, including the United States.
Members of the Congress delegation emphasized the US willingness to support Tunisia in both the economic and security fields.
