During the meeting, Sisi said Egypt is seeking to build a solid base of cooperation with Ghana especially in the economic and trade fields, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
A date has to be set for convening the joint Egypt-Ghana committee after the Ghanaian general elections take place in November, Sisi said.
Egyptian companies are being encouraged to continue contributing to development efforts exerted by the Ghanaian government, he added.
For his part, President Mahama praised the Egyptian companies working in Ghana in the construction, energy and mining fields.
He also appreciated Egypt’s technical and medical support to the country.
The Ghanaian president hailed the role of Al Azhar in strengthening cultural ties between the two countries and spreading the teachings of moderate Islam against extremist ideas.
