Palestine PM meets UK consul

Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah met on Wednesday with British Consul General in Jerusalem Alastair McPhail.

They discussed the latest political and economic developments in the Gaza Strip as well as ways of reconstructing the coastal enclave.

The Palestinian leadership, under President Mahmoud Abbas, is determined to reach a two-state solution and put an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories, Hamdallah said.

He also called on Britain to support the Palestinian government in its endeavors to reconstruct the Gaza Strip as soon as possible to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people there.
