His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, today received at Zabeel Palace, Nikola Gruevski, Prime Minister of Macedonia, and his accompanying delegation.

At the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed welcomed the Macedonian Prime Minister, wishing him a successful visit to the UAE.

Gruevski hailed the development witnessed by the UAE at various levels, especially in the fields of information technology, smart government transformation, infrastructure, tourism and education. He expressed his country's hope to attract UAE investments and the establishment of viable investment partnership between the two countries both at the levels of public and private sector.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Mr. Gruevski attended the signing of a Double Tax Avoidance Agreement between the Governments of the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Macedonia.

The agreement was signed by Obaid bin Humaid Al Tayer, UAE Minister of State for Financial Affairs and Head of the Honorary Mission accompanying the guest, and Nikola Poposki, the Macedonian Foreign Minister.

The meeting and the signing ceremony were attended by H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State, Mohammed Ibrahim AI Shaibani, Director-General of His Highness the Ruler's Court, Government of Dubai, Lt. General Misbah bin Rashid AI Fattan, Director of the Office of the Vice-President, and Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Director-General of the Department of Protocol and Hospitality in Dubai, in addition to a number of senior officials from both sides.
