His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has received Masoud Barzani, President of Iraq's Kurdistan region, at the Majlis of Qasr Al Bahr Palace.

Welcoming Mr Barazani and members of his delegation, H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed expressed the UAE's keen interest in bolstering fraternal relations with the Republic of Iraq.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways of promoting relations between the UAE and Iraq's Kurdistan Region in areas of common interest with a focus on economic aspects.

President Barazani expressed his delight at visiting the UAE and praised the outstanding relations between the two sides.

He also praised the UAE for supporting Iraq's Kurdistan Region in various fields and backing the Region to address the challenges of sheltering refugees in several cities.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the overall developments in the region and a number of issues of mutual interest.

Present at the meeting were H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region; H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation; H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court; H.H. Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care & Special Needs (ZHO); Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Transport Department and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority; Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council; and a number of senior officials.
