Japanese FM Meets US Counterpart
Tokyo - Arab Today
US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson met here Thursday with Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to face the growing North Korean nuclear threat. Tillerson is in his first Asian tour to Japan, South Korea and China since taking office on Feb. 1.
The visit comes amid growing concerns of Asian regional powers after North Korea fired four ballistic missile toward Japan last week, according to (Kyodo) news agency.
Tillerson said at the outset of talks that trilateral cooperation between Japan, South Korea and the United States is "critical" in addressing North Korea's provocative actions.
