
Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Mohamed Abdel Atti on Thursday met with the newly-appoined Dutch Ambassador to Egypt Laurens Westhoff.
The meeting was held at the behest at the Dutch diplomat and aimed at probing ways of promoting vistas of cooperation between Egypt and the Netherlands, especially in the water resources and irrigation domain.
Westhoff praised the Egyptian political leadership's plans to use greenhouses in agriculture, saying the Netherlands is ready to offer technical support for Egypt in this aspect.
The usage of greenhouses contributes to rationalizing water consumption and upgrading the production capacity of feddan unit of area, he added.
