Iraqi parliament speaker receives Egyptian parliamentary delegation

Iraqi parliament speaker Saleem al Jubouri on Friday received an Egyptian parliamentary delegation, led by House of Representatives' undersecretary Mahmoud el Sherif.

The delegation arrived in Baghdad to take part in the 11th Session of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Member States (PUIC) conference.

The meeting focused on the importance of integrating Arab and Islamic parliamentary work to deal with challenges currently facing Arab and Islamic states.

Sherif affirmed willingness of the Egyptian House of Representatives to boost cooperation with its Iraqi counterpart at all levels.

He told MENA that the visit aims to strengthen parliamentary relations and promote cooperation between representatives of the Egyptian and Iraqi peoples.
