Egypt keen on promoting cooperation with Russian companies

Egypt is keen on holding cooperation with Russian companies in the various spheres, including the petroleum and gas sectors, said President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

During his meeting with Russian state oil firm Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin, President Sisi welcomed steps taken by the Russian company to expand its activities in Egypt.

The Egyptian and Russian sides are determined to promote strategic cooperation between them to include various spheres, he added. 

The Russian official conveyed the greetings of Russian President Vladimir Putin to President Sisi, said Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef.

He also extended condolences to President Sisi over the deadly blast at a church in Cairo on Sunday that killed at least 25 Coptic worshipers and injured 49 others, added the spokesman.
