Agriculture and Land Reclamation Minister Abdel Monem el Bana underlined on Monday the importance of establishing real partnership between Egypt and Germany in the agricultural domain.
There are vast opportunities for agricultural investments between the two countries, especially in the national mega projects aiming at achieving real sustainable development in Egypt, the minister said during a meeting with German parliament member Alexander Radwan.
The reclamation of 1.5 million feddans in Farafra area, the establishment of 150,000 greenhouses and the development of many Egyptian villages are among the underway national projects in Egypt, he noted.
Bana said he will discuss a number of agricultural projects with the German agricultural minister, who is expected to visit Egypt next month.
Radwan said the German side is interested in partnering with Egypt in many agricultural development projects, especially as regards fish farming, poultry and seed production.
Egyptian mango is a favorite for Germans, he said, adding that there is an intention to increase German imports of mangoes from Egypt within the coming period.
