Bahraini FM hails Egypt's regional role

Bahraini Foreign Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmad bin Mohamad Al Khalifa stressed solidarity with Egypt's pioneering role in promoting joint Arab action and defending Arab interests.

He said Egypt - as a heavyweight country - is exerting strenuous efforts to confront regional challenges and dangers, read a statement by the Bahraini Foreign Ministry.

During a meeting Wednesday with visiting Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, Sheikh Khalid hailed Egypt's supportive stances for Bahrain's security and prosperity.

Shoukry said the visit falls within the framework of continued consultations and coordination between the two countries.

Shoukry hailed the efforts exerted by Bahrain to further ties with Arab states, highlighting Egypt's support for Bahrain.
