Arab League Secretary General Nabil el Araby received on Tuesday Egypt's Army Chief of Staff Mahmoud Hegazy.
They touched on a meeting of Arab chiefs of staff that will take place in Cairo on Wednesday.
The top brass meeting is expected to discuss the joint Arab military force and the situation in Yemen.
At the Sharm el Sheikh summit last month, Arab leaders agreed to form a united military force to combat the challenges the region is facing.
