Cairo - Arab Today

Arab League Secretary General Nabil el Arabi will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday for talks on regional developments and boosting Arab-Chinese cooperation, according to a statement by the pan-Arab body.

This is the first visit by a Chinese president to Egypt in 12 years. President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met with Xi in Beijing in December of 2014.

The Chinese president will also visit Saudi Arabia and Iran during this period, from January 19-23, the statement said.

The visits come upon an invitation by the leaders of the three countries to the Chinese president, it said.
