The Syrian government has concluded an agreement with the UN, pertaining the evacuation of trapped civilians from the rebel-held old Homs city, a well- informed official source told Xinhua Thursday. "The evacuation of the civilians will happen so soon," the source said on condition of anonymity, spelling no further details. Other sources told Xinhua that the evacuation will start from Friday. Evacuating women and children from the rebel-held Homs' old quarter was discussed between the delegations of the opposition Syrian National Coalition and the Syrian government during their meetings in the Geneva II conference. About 3,000 civilians and 4,000 rebels were trapped in the old quarter of Homs as the Syrian regular troops imposed a 20-months siege on that rebel-held area.
