
H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah and American University of Sharjah (AUS), has opened the 'Sharjah Cultural Days', an event aimed to showcase the U.A.E.'s culture, history, heritage and traditions. Accompanied by a number of Sheikhs and senior officials, H.H. Sheikh Sultan toured the shows organised as part of the cultural event. The shows exhibit H.H. Sheikh Sultan private collection of rare historic maps of the Arabian Gulf region, geographic documents, calligraphy works by U.A.E. and Arab artists, as well as different types of traditional ships of U.A.E. The Sharjah Cultural Days is organised by the emirate at the invitation of the French city as part of its celebrations as the European Capital of Culture for 2013.
