
An operetta was held at the University of Bahrain (UoB) Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa Auditorium in Al-Sakhir. His Majesty's Personal Representative for Charity Work and Youth, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa attended the event.
SCYS First Deputy Chairman, Head of the Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA) Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa was also present, along with ministers, officials and members of the diplomatic corps. The General Organisation for Youth and Sport (GOYS) held the operetta on The Kingdom of Bahrain's celebrations of its National Days on December 16 and 17, marking the anniversary of the establishment of the modern state of Bahrain as an Arab and Muslim country in 1783 by its founder Ahmed Al-Fateh, the 43rd Anniversary of its accession to the UN as a full member and the 15th Anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's Accession to the Throne.
GOYS President Hisham Mohammed Al-Jowder presented commemorative shields to both Shaikh Nasser and Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, in recognition of their support. UAE singer Fayez Al-Said and singer Balqees took part in the operetta and dedicated a song composed by poet Saud Al-Kaabi to Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa. Bahraini singers Mohammed Al-Tamimi, Layali, Sanad and Shaima'a also took part in the operetta, titled "Glorious Odyssey", which was supervised and directed by Khalid Al-Ruwae.
