
The Supreme Council for Culture (SCC) announced Saturday the winners of Egypt's state Arts and Culture Awards for the year 2014.
The names of winners were announced during the SCC meeting chaired by Culture Minister Abdel Wahed El Nabway and its secretary-general Mohammed Afifi.
In the field of arts, Dr Kelay Qassem won the state's encouragement award over a study on photography, while Bassam Ahmed Mohamed named winner of criticism in the field of music composition.
The awards of cinema directing, furniture and urban designing was withheld.
Meantime, Khalid Tawakle and Hosam Jalil have shared the award of literature for their works on Arabic grammar and poems collection.
On the biography and translation, Intisar Abdel Moneim Hussein was given the award for a story titled "My story with the brotherhood, autobiography of an ex-MB member."
The awards of critical discourse analysis of novels and Science fiction novels were withheld too.
