The construction works of structuring projects for the future major cultural centre in Rahmani-Achour district (ex-Bardo) in Constatine (431 km east of Algiers) will be launched soon, said Monday the province’s Cultural Director Djamel Foughali. This site, where there were illegal constructions years ago, will host as part of the preparations for Constantine’s cultural event, a palace of culture, an urban library, a history museum, a 3,000-seat theatre and an exhibition centre. The major cultural centre will be built over a large area of several hectares in Oued Rhumel, near Panoramic Hotel, said Foughali, adding that as “the countdown to "Constantine: Capital of Arab Culture 2015” event has started, this project “must be delivered befor the deadlines to make up the deficit in terms of adequate infrastructures.” The consultation prior to the launch of the works is at its last phase, added Foughali.
