
Hundreds of Muslim worshippers staged a sit-in inside the courtyards of Al-Aqsa mosque to protect it against Jewish extremists' break-ins,Palestinian foundation Wednesday said .
According to a statement of the Al-Aqsa Foundation for Waqf and Heritage, hundreds of Palestinians living in Jerusalem and other parts of Palestine poured into East Jerusalem to protect Al-Aqsa mosque from Jews and to prevent them from entering the mosque to perform their rituals in the occasion of the new Jewish year.
"Earlier this week,Jewish extremist groups called on Jews to storm Al-Aaqsa mosque on Wednesday which coincides with the so-called the official Jewish New Year's Day", the statement explained.
