Foreign ministers of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries will confer on outlining a successful strategy to fight terrorism, violent extremism and Islamophobia on May 27.
The OIC has sensed a need to outline such strategy, well placed sources at the organization's general secretariat said Wednesday, noting that a brainstorming session will be held on the sidelines of the 42nd round of talks of the OIC foreign ministers in Kuwait.
The strategy will be part of OIC efforts to counter terrorism, radicalism and hate speech in light of the emergence of the Daesh terrorist group and the increase in terrorist activities.
The special session is meant to find ways to face the expansion of terrorist groups such as Boko Haram, Shabab, Al Qaeda and the Taliban.
Participants will also discuss means to support a recently formed anti-terrorism unit and OIC mechanisms to detect Islamophobic speech.
