The Social Fund for Popular Cafes on Sunday stressed keenness on preserving the Kuwaiti heritage and popular traditions, as well as maintaining a link between the past and the present generations.
The fund organized on Sunday a workshop for training young people on plastic arts at the Sueliman Al-Shemimri café in Sharq, head of the café Jassem Al-Khabaz, told KUNA.
He added that the four-day event is organized in cooperation with the Kuwait Arts Association. It is an outcome of cooperation among all the public benefit societies. Children aged 8-15 are targeted for the workshop.
The art events and fairs organized by the popular cafés fund are likely to promote culture and arts, in addition to revealing the civilized face of Kuwait.
Moreover, the training art workshop offers young people the chance to reveal their artistic talents, Khabaz said, noting that the best drawings will be placed at popular cafes.
The fund is reaching to all civil society organisations in Kuwait seeking support for its activities, he said.
