
His Highness Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah opened on Wednesday the 39th Islamic Book Fair which is sponsored by the Social Reform Society. In a statement after the opening ceremony, the Prime Minister expressed appreciation for the level of attentiveness given to this annual event which highlights the profundity of Islamic scholarship throughout the ages. He further applauded the variety of publications on display including books and manuscripts on Islamic and cultural topics that would interest the intelligentsia and the average readers alike. Attending the ceremony were a number of government ministers and highly-placed officials.
