
Katara has renewed its agreement with United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco). This took place during a meeting between Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Manager, Katara, and Dr Anna Paolini, Director of Unesco Office for Arab countries in Gulf and Yemen. They also discussed means of developing cooperation.Dr Al Sulaiti said the meeting was fruitful with the renewal of the agreement and discussion of means of developing and providing support for the cultural movement and exchanging cultural and innovative experiences. Development of cultural programs and promotion of dialogue between cultures was also discussed during the meeting at Katara headquarters.“All these are in line with Katara’s aims and the role it plays in becoming an international cultural platform hosting creative and artistic activities and supporting cultural and innovative works,” he said, adding Katara has gained good reputation drawing the attention of international organizations concerned with cultural and humanitarian aspects.Dr Paolini praised Katara for creating a suitable environment for cultural diversity and hosting events and activities to enhance the links, bring together different cultures and promote communication between peoples.She said Unesco’s renewal of the agreement is an important step to support cultural issues and promote humanitarian relations.
