
Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati arrived in Doha on Tuesday afternoon for a several -days’ visit to Qatar during which he discusses ties of boosting ties of cultural cooperation between the two countries. Upon his arrival at Doha International Airport, Jannati was received by HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr Hamad bin Abdul Aziz Al Kuwari and the Iranian ambassador accredited to Qatar HE Dr Mohamed Jawad Asayesh Zarchi. In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) ,HE the Minister of Culture said the first visit of the Iranian minister to Qatar after he has taken the office shows the deep-rooted relations between the two countries not only in the field of culture, but also in the various fields ,expressing hope to discuss further cultural cooperation between the two countries for the benefit of the two peoples in the light of common bonds between Qatar and Iran, most notably Islam and the neighborhood . Jannati reaffirmed the indepth of cultural relations between his country and Qatar, saying that his visit to Qatar comes at the invitation of HE the Minister of Culture , Arts and Heritage. Dr Al Kuwari in turn made clear that Iran participated in the Doha International Book Fair as a guest of honor and participates annually in this exhibition as well as in the activities for “Doha Capital of Arab Culture 2010″. He stressed that he will hold talks with his Iranian counterpart tomorrow, Wednesday, on ways of activating and enhancing cultural cooperation and agreeing on a common cultural programs will be held in Doha and Tehran in order to serve the overall relations between the two countries .
