An Initiative was launched Saturday at Alexandria's Qaitbay Citadel to support tourism.

Several bodies participate in the initiative that kicked off under the auspices of Antiquities Minister Mamdouh el Damati.

A rally was organized from the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in Shatby district to the citadel, raising the Egyptian flags and banners to support the Egyptian tourism.

For his part, Director General of the Islamic and Coptic monuments in Alexandria Mohamed Metwally said that revenues of the castle's visits have recently increased.
