
H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi, today visited the Heritage Village, which was organised by the Government of Abu Dhabi at Yas Marina Circuit as part of cultural events accompanying the Grand Prix Formula 1 Etihad Airways Grand Prix 2013 H.H Sheikh Hazza toured the stand of the Government of Abu Dhabi at the Heritage Village where he praised the Government of Abu Dhabi for organising the cultural event and underlined the preservation and showcasing the nation's heritage. During his tour, H.H. Sheikh viewed the different functions at the Village including traditional handcrafts, foods and clothing and attended a traditional music performance on Rababa, a traditional string instrument. He toured the stand of Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital and the Middle East Falconry Archive which features a rare collection of manuscripts, tools and historic books. H.H. Sheikh Hazza also visited the national naval heritage stand which showcases the history of the traditions of fishing, diving, pearling. There, he viewed an interactive presentation which showcases the history of the emirate of Abu Dhabi including climbing of palm trees to harvest their fruits. The Heritage Village includes the Cultural Programs and Heritage Festivals Committee - Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Municipality, General Women's Union, Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital, Abu Dhabi Media, Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Abu Dhabi Tourism '&' Culture Authority WAM/MMYS
